LOVERS NEVER GET OLD

napowrimo#8...about lovers

LOVERS NEVER GET OLD

older
no focus
no mission
staring at each other
forgetting ourselves
who we are
who we were
unable to get off our chair
tears running down our cheeks
our inner being
never to be concealed
still in love

Wayne! So you seduced that beautiful nun
after all?
You deserve a stint in the Guevara Guerilla
Light orchestra for that!

Painful poem, but very good, sweet.

I read this poem three times -- I think it could be either a sad poem or a peaceful poem, a poem of regret or a poem of acceptance. A poem that "stares" at both what's gained and lost when aging. Nice work!

Ummm....REALLY nice! Lots going on in here. I love the frankness, honestly, absence of romanticism. "Unable to get off our chair, tears running down our cheeks"...powerful stuff!

You handled the subject with a lot more grace than I. Lovely.

Kool! The title says it all!

Lovers need never get old- but love needs to be nurtured and coddled and invested in! Then the rewards can be incredible! Thanks for this concept!

Well I hope that I will get to that point of "never to be concealed" much sooner than older!

I really like how you started out your poem, really established a strong pov in such few words.
