napowrimo#22..using the word dizzy from the wordle prompt
DIZZY
making an Afro-Cuban jazz statement
with a spanish tinge
under his beret
and horned rimmed glasses
blowing through his crooked trumpet
with his turbo charged pouched cheeks
gusting up a hurricane
deep from his lungs
syncopated lightning bolts
of be bop
a little scat singing
with plenty of sense
Dizzy

Love it. I can see him and hear him.
Wayne,
Ooh, I love what you did here! I have been waiting this evening for your post.
Cheers,
Pamela
That cat sure could blow.
Nice work.
I hadn't thought of Dizzy Gillespie! This made me smile. He was a cool cat, a friend was making a documentary about him, and the morning of the night he was in town to play, my friend got a phone call, "Hey, this is Dizzy..."
I love this. Made me dizzy reading it.

Sadly, I'm not a jazz fan but I enjoy it in your poems!
I wondered how he got his cheeks to blow up so big when he would play. Do you know?
You picked the best word of the bunch.
Diz is a favorite. I still love watching his old performance clips, and this brought him back to life.
