my original poetry
Wonderfully written - and so very true. Life after retirement is a real challenge for so many who have been absorbed by their work.
Interesting and I especially likeshe likes nothing more than a sip of tea-so she can forget the dizzy raceand search for the stars in the skyinstead of watching old movies for me retirement is very under rated.....I enjoy it and have fun dong new things! Have a happy day!
This is an outstanding poem. I didn't at all think of it as a retired person; just as a recluse. I suppose being a recluse is much easier if you have a pension--and the problem of "what will come next" could be thought of as death for a retiree. Here's what I like about this poem: It has rhythm of thoughts. It has excellent imagery (far better than I can come up with). It uses language well, without torturing it. It is a bit ambiguous, but is not one of those amorphous masses of twisted words that mean nothing and everything. Besides all that, it is a poignant portrait of too many people.
