NAKED CLOWN

the old clown strips down
a fool stripping to the raw
the audience sits staring
amazed
not even makeup
covers what he shows
his humorous sadness
they came to see

separating the audience and the clown
there trembles silence
and shivering with nakedness
he dances around it
reaching out to touch them
they yell and scream
ladies grab their men
running towards the locked doors

That would be my repose to see a clown. regardless of my empathy for his sadness. Good job

Oh no! He's locked all the doors! Great twist to this delightful clown today!

Wow... I didn't expect this!

poor old fart.

The locked doors are a touch of premeditation: spookier than the average clown.

This makes me think of a Steven King clown.

Remarkably different response to the prompt.

An interesting response, Wayne. Much more weird than the average show, but a circus none-the-less. The performance verges on the thinking of a mentally, unstable individual. One wonders how stable the minds of circus performers are anyway. Nice stretch.

Hey! Hey! What a clever turnabout... although I'd probably peek a bit longer before doing one.......!

Nothing wrong with naked clowns - funny as nature intended! LOL

you can hardly blame them,
the freak
(stick tongue in cheek)

Strong write. I like the crazy clown idea, and can relate to being misunderstood.

Wayne, It is a bit terrifying to think of being locked in, with no escape. This is strong. Nice to see you at the whirl.

Pamela
btw, your link is bad at the whirl site.
