WHISKEY AND CIGARETTES

              WHISKEY and CIGARETTES
somewhere at a rusty table
a poet sits,
shaking her hands at what she sees.
a bottle of cheap whisky is open,
with ashes on her lap
listening to gypsy jazz.
it has got cold inside
so she lights up another.
a turtle moves slowly
towards the heat.  Tomorrow
she will write all day, and then
go dancing, but tonite
she translates bad poetry
and it  makes her cry.
the ashes notice and smoulder.
the turtle doesn't care.
she pours herself more whiskey
and thinks of the mountains
where coyotes come down at night
to gobble the turtles.
she doesn't hear sounds of help
so ignores them.  she flings
the bottle at the floor,
turns  the jukebox up, closes
her eyes and lights up another.

I agree with the above two commenters. This moves me in mysterious way. Like the connection between the coyotes and the turtles and the whiskey and the ash. What a pleasure. So glad to have discovered your poetry.

This poor translator is a mess. I think adding the whiskey added a nice touch. You told us a lot with few words. Well done!

All the details add up to more than the sum of the parts. Your words paint a picture I can feel. Kudos.

The beats studio have a over ear design which is better at blocking noise then the solo on-ear design, and they have active noise cancellation, which blocks some of the really annoying background noise on trains, cars, aeroplanes, etc, and they block a fair bit of general outside noise when music is playing because of their enclosed over-ear design..

Especially in winter, when many cool shoes have to be thrown into wardrobe leaving us to be in trouble of worrying about which pair of shoes to wear, the perfect resolution is to prepare a pair of UGG boots, which not only keep feet warm but also rock people's eyes with fashionable appearance.
